From: 10:00 - 16:00

Step into the timeless charm of Old Mill House and enjoy a magical day of traditional willow weaving with resident artist Heather McDermott on our Weave a Dragonfly and Butterfly Workshop . During this full-day workshop, you’ll learn to weave your own willow sculptures, perfect for bringing character, interest and movement to your garden.
Throughout the day, Heather will guide you through essential weaving techniques and the key skills needed to shape your own unique creations. Using willow sustainably grown on site, you’ll work with this beautiful, natural material to craft sculptures that suit your garden—large or small. These handcrafted pieces add lasting beauty, structure, and interest to planters and flowerbeds for years to come.
Weather permitting, you’ll also visit our Salley (Saille) Garden to explore the remarkable sustainability and renewable qualities of willow. Please dress appropriately for outdoor learning.
No prior experience is needed! This workshop welcomes adults of all skill levels, including beginners. However, a little manual strength and dexterity will help as you work with the natural materials.
Why not bring a friend or loved one to share a creative and memorable day together? You’ll leave with a stunning willow sculpture and the confidence to continue weaving long after the workshop ends. 🌿
