
Join us in the Walled Garden for our sustainable willow birdfeeder workshop and create two beautiful willow birdfeeders of your choice. A perfect sustainable way to care for your garden birds this winter!
The workshop is on Sunday, 11th January, 2026, 10am – 4.00pm
Our overwintering, birds are particularly vulnerable at this time of year. These handcrafted feeders, designed to hold fat balls, seeds, or nuts, will provide them with essential nourishment. They will also add a bespoke, rustic, charm to your garden.
This sustainable willow birdfeeders workshop is suitable for beginners and those with experience alike, as local willow artist, Heather will guide you through the various practical weaving processes involved. You will visit our Salley garden and learn how the willow is grown, cut and processed so please dress accordingly

Follow the signs for Helen’s Bay from the A2 Belfast/Bangor carriageway via the Craigdarragh Road .
Drive down the Craigdarragh Road for 0.8 miles. You will see the Walled Garden on your left.
Turn left at the 30mph speed limit sign, just before the railway bridge. This will be signposted
Drive down our temporary stoned driveway, into the car park

Join us in the Walled Garden for a fun, relaxed, willow workshop to Weave a Christmas Angel Workshop and add a rustic touch of seasonal charm, to your home or garden just in time for Christmas!
The workshop is on
Sunday 8th November 10am -4.00pm
You will spend the day with experienced local willow artist, Heather McDermott, who will guide you through the various traditional willow weaves, and practical processes involved using the homegrown sustainable willow from our Saillie garden.
Decorate your angel with LED lights or use natural elements like ivy and berries for a more natural organic look…or why not both??
This workshop is perfect for beginners and seasoned crafters alike.
No prior experience is needed, although good manual dexterity and hand strength is required to work with the willow.
